Announcing Winner of 2010 Beer & Chefs Competition

Hi everyone, on behalf of the Brewers Guild we want to say a huge thank you for entering the Beer & Chefs competition this year, the judges really enjoyed the variety and creativity put into the dishes and their beer matches.
 
Three finalist restaurants we re-judged on Thursday by guest judges Victoria Wells (Editor of Dish Mag) and Paul Mercurio (Beer Judge & home brewer, Mercurio’s Menu & Dancing with the Stars Judge).
 
The finalists were:
Café Polo
Logan Brown
The Tasting Room
 
The Winner this year was Logan Brown Restaurant. 
Here is their match, created by Shaun Clouston, along with Shaun’s description of the match.

The Dish:
Cardamon and Rose Water Panna Cotta with Pistachio Wafers & Rhubarb

The Beer:
The Mussel Inn Captain Cooker

The Description:
The Turkish delight/rose flavour chartacter of the beer blends nicely with the smooth creamy floral flavours of the Panna Cotta. Plus there are also some fine biscuit notes from the beer that balance nicely with the Pistachio Wafers. But the main reason are they both dam tasty together.
