As a Brewer at Mount Brewing Co, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process, from brewing to packaging, ensuring that every product produced in our brewery meets the highest quality standards. You’ll play an essential role in maintaining the integrity of our brand and representing the values, vision, and direction of both BOP Brewery Ltd and Mount Brewing Co.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage fermentation and cellaring processes, adhering to the specific requirements of each beer; maintain accurate records, manage water and stock levels, and ensure a clean work environment.
- Monitor and transfer beer from tanks to bright tanks according to schedule and requirements.
- Prepare ingredients as per recipe and monitor inventory levels.
- Collaborate with the production team to maintain the highest quality standards and ensure the brewery remains clean, safe, and functional at all times.
- Brew beer by following specific recipes, producing wort, managing ingredients, stock levels, water quality, yeast propagation and harvesting, keeping records, and overseeing product transfer.
- Develop beer recipes, concepts, and descriptions, sharing them with the wider brewing team.
- Organise and participate in collaborations and events that help grow the brand.
- Represent the brewery’s culture and brand in all internal and external activities.
- Stay updated on best practices in brewing and packaging.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, MPI, and legal regulations.
- Assist with brewery maintenance and general upkeep.
- Set up and manage packaging runs, including labeling cans, building boxes, and kegging beer.
- Work towards winning awards to elevate the brewery’s brand and reputation while enhancing your own growth and expertise as a brewer.
- Follow established cleaning procedures and maintain high standards of hygiene.
Physical Demands:
- The position requires standing for long periods, walking, and performing manual tasks such as reaching, climbing, bending, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift or carry up to 25 kg and move or manipulate up to 70 kg.
- The role may also involve the use of arms above the shoulder.
- Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Manual dexterity is essential, with quick hand movements, grasping, manipulating, and assembling tasks.
- The role requires operating a forklift or motor vehicle.

Additional Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of commercial brewing experience.
- Forklift license required.
- Full-time, permanent position.
