We are here to SUPPORT, CHAMPION & BOOST our members and the wider industry. Our strategic focus fosters innovation, encourages social responsibility and strives to support the commercial success of New Zealand’s brewing industry.

Our strategy is pretty straight forward – we are here to facilitate COLLABORATION for the betterment of our member businesses, to create CONNECTION to help foster innovation and promote the industry and CELEBRATE the wins.
Our VISION, MISSION and VALUES reflect our unique, passionate and diverse industry.

Our History

The Brewers Guild of New Zealand has been around for a while. On 21 November 2006, Dunedin brewing legend Richard Emerson and 15 other passionate brewing industry stalwarts registered the ‘Guild’ as an incorporated Society with a view to create a collective of like minded folks who had the same goal, to help grow and protect New Zealand’s brewing industry. Plenty has happened since then, and we’re pleased that we still have some of those original 16 as active members of the Guild. Good things take time, and it’s always great when those good things last the distance. We’re pretty confident that what the ‘OG’s’ had in mind isn’t too far from where we are today.

NZ Beer Awards

Industry Achievement Award

This honour is awarded to a person who has gained recognition for outstanding achievement in a field allied to the brewing industry. This Honour is distinct from other Industry Awards at the New Zealand Beer Awards because it awards individuals rather than organisational achievements.

To be considered for an Industry Achievement Award, the person must have been active in the brewing industry for at least 5 years. During this time, the person will have demonstrated a commitment to supporting the interests of Brewers and actively going above and beyond in their conduct and service to make the day-to-day activities for brewers easier. More than focusing on ‘just doing their job’ this award recognised excellence in customer service, positivity in attitude and a commitment to collaboration.
