Membership Basics

Q: How long does a membership last?
A: Memberships run for a fixed 12‑month term from April 1st.

Q: Can I join partway through the year?
A: Yes. You can join at any time, and your membership will continue until the end of the current financial year.

Q: Can I cancel my membership mid‑term?
A: No. Memberships cannot be cancelled mid‑term.


Membership Types

Q: What types of memberships are available?
A: The Guild offers Brewery Memberships, Individual Memberships and Corporate Memberships.

Q: How are Brewery Membership fees determined?
A: Brewery membership fees are tiered based on annual production volume.

Q: Why would a microbrewery join the Brewers Guild?
A: To gain the backing of an industry support network and a knowledgeable team available whenever guidance is needed.

Q: Do you offer corporate memberships?
A: Yes. Corporate memberships are available.

Billing & Payments

Q: What payment options are available?
A: You may pay annually or choose monthly payments by credit card.

Q: Is there a surcharge for monthly payments?
A: If applicable, processing fees will be shown at checkout or on your invoice.

Q: Can I change my payment method during the year?
A: Yes. You can update your payment method by emailing louise@brewersguild.org.nz.

Q: Will I receive an invoice or receipt?
A: Yes. These can be requested.

Q: What happens if a monthly payment fails?
A: You will be notified, and payment will be re‑attempted. Membership benefits may be paused if payments remain outstanding.


Renewals & Changes

Q: Do memberships auto‑renew?
A: Renewal reminders are sent before the new financial year. Monthly memberships may renew automatically unless you notify us.


Awards & Discounts

Q: Do members receive discounts on NZ Beer Awards entries?
A: Yes. Member discounts apply, and eligible discounts are visible within the logged‑in Members’ Area. 

Q: Can non‑members enter the awards?
A: Yes. Awards are open to all entrants, but discounts apply only to members.


Benefits & Access

Q: What benefits come with membership?
A: Benefits include industry advocacy, partner discounts, exclusive member‑only deals, training and education access, resources and templates, and awards entry discounts.

Q: How do I access the Members’ Area of the website?
A: Once your membership is activated, you will receive login details for the Members’ Area:

Q: How many logins does each brewery receive?
A: Each brewery receives one login to the Members’ Area.

Q: How do discount codes work for my brewery?
A: Discount codes are visible when logged in and can be updated at any time for your brewery.


Administration & Policies

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Memberships cannot be cancelled mid‑term. You may choose not to renew at the next cycle.

Q: Do you offer refunds?
A: Membership fees are non‑refundable once the term has begun.

Q: Do you charge GST?
A: If applicable, GST will appear on your invoice.

Q: How is my information used?
A: Your information is used solely to manage your membership and communications.
