We run a tight ship, but it’s one that floats between a lakeside cafe, a buzzing bakery, and a canyon-side restaurant.
We’re looking for a Food & Beverage Operations Manager to help steer it. Could that be you?
This role isn’t tied to just one venue. It’s part strategy, part support, part boots-on-the-ground, working across The Boat Shed Cafe & Bistro, The Boat Shed Bakery, and Canyon Restaurant. You’ll be working closely with and overseeing our existing leadership teams to make sure everything runs like a well-pulled espresso: smooth, consistent, and up to scratch every time.
We’ve grown quickly, and we’re now at a stage where oversight and cohesion across our businesses is essential. That’s where you come in.
Maybe you’ve been a GM, a senior ops leader, or even come from a finance or HR background. What matters most is that you’re a sharp operator with a big-picture view and the ability to keep all the moving parts aligned.
Here’s a taste of what your week might look like:
Monday rolls around. You’re sitting down with the Bakery and Cafe managers to go over weekend numbers and check in on upcoming staff rosters. There’s a new seasonal menu launching soon and you’re helping smooth out the prep schedule so service runs sharp from day one.
Tuesday, you’re hitting the ground running, reviewing wage costs and venue revenue against budgets across the group, looking for trends and finding smart ways to lift margins without cutting corners. You spot something worth diving into further and plan a deep dive with our Managing Director tomorrow.
Wednesday, it’s hump day and you’re over at Canyon, catching up with the General Manager and Head Chef about upcoming functions. You review KPI tracking and help troubleshoot a few small pain points in ordering. By the afternoon, you’re back in town helping implement a new system that’ll streamline how the bakery handles wholesale orders.
Thursday, it’s training day and you’re running a leadership workshop for supervisors across the venues. Afterward, you help refine an SOP for customer service that you will roll out to all three businesses next month.
Friday, the end of the week is near. A few last calls, a quick check on weekend rosters, and you’re out the door. You swing by Canyon Restaurant for a brew with the team in the sun before heading into the weekend.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Bring 2–3 years of experience in an Operations Manager role or 5+ years in a Management role within the hospitality industry
- Are just as comfortable working with spreadsheets as you are chatting with chefs
- Know what good service really looks like – and how to train, support, and lead teams to deliver it
- Are proactive, calm under pressure, and quietly obsessed with efficiency
- Love the balance of strategy, systems, and on-the-floor ops
- Have experience leading multiple teams or venues at once
- You’re across the details too – compliance, safety, and service standards are second nature
Why work with us?
Because we give a damn. About our people, our customers, and our venues. You’ll be joining a genuinely supportive leadership team, in a role where you can make a real impact across a group that’s proudly local, fiercely independent, and always evolving.
We offer a juicy remuneration package and perks like free health insurance (where eligible), staff discounts across all our venues, and plenty of opportunities for growth across a diverse and exciting hospitality group. You’ll also be part of a team that genuinely enjoys working together — good vibes, great food, and even better people.
Plus, a competitive salary based on experience.
Keen? We’d love to meet you.
