Warehouse and Logistics Manager – Good George Hospitality Group

Join Team Good George and help us deliver the good stuff – from tank to glass!

We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager who can combine strategic leadership with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude. Like any great craft brewery role, it’s a mix of strategy and action – you’ll drive improvements across process and compliance but also pitch in on the floor when it counts.

About Us

Founded in 2012 in a converted church in the heart of Hamilton, Good George Brewing has grown into much more than a brewery. We are a nationally recognised market leading brand with presence in multiple sectors and every region across NZ.

Our Hamilton brewery is the beating heart of our operation, where we produce a wide range of beverages in kegs, cans, and our signature glass squealers. Since 2019, we’ve expanded into distilling our own gin and whisky, which has quickly become a core part of our business.

We are looking to the future and continuously improving the sustainability of our business and products. We do this by looking after our team, helping our community through various partnerships, monitoring and improving our waste production and production efficiencies. We care deeply about creating the best quality products available.

We’re a passionate team driven by craft, creativity, and community – and we’re looking for someone who shares that spirit to join us.

Our Values: Create, Inspire, Together

At Good George, we’re all about shaking things up and pushing boundaries. We thrive on creativity and innovation. We value collaboration, mutual respect, and having fun together. We work hard and celebrate our achievements – by playing hard too!

About the Role

This is a leadership role with full accountability for warehouse and logistics operations. You’ll set direction for the warehouse team, own our WMS, and ensure best practice H&S compliance. Beyond day-to-day management, you’ll lead initiatives in efficiency, cost control, sustainability, and customer service.

In a craft brewery environment, flexibility and adaptability are key. While your main focus will be leadership and performance, there will be occasions where you’ll step in on the warehouse floor to support your team – whether that’s helping resolve a dispatch issue or keeping deliveries on track. We value leaders who lead by example and set the standard for the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the warehouse team and building capability through coaching and SOP development.
  • Driving accuracy across WMS, stocktakes, and reporting, reducing wastage and improving efficiency.
  • Owning dispatch operations – ensuring orders are delivered correctly and on time.
  • Ensuring effective stock rotation (FIFO) and shelf-life management to maintain product quality and meet customer-dated stock requirements.
  • Monitoring and managing SLOB (slow-moving and obsolete stock), working with Sales and Production to minimise write-offs.
  • Acting as the key contact for Freight partners, including responding to delivery issues, resolving them in timely manner.
  • Managing fleet safety, compliance, and maintenance to the highest standards.
  • Coordinating logistics for major events like Fieldays as well as smaller activations.
  • Regularly reviewing processes, implementing improvements, and driving sustainability initiatives.
  • Build SOPs and train the team – knowledge sharing and team growth mindset

Core skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience leading warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations. (FMCG or food/beverage experience preferred).
  • Forklift licence with F endorsement, preferred.
  • Class 2 licence, a bonus.
  • Strong track record in delivering KPIs (DIFOT, inventory accuracy, cost efficiency).
  • Hands-on operational knowledge – warehouse, dispatch, fleet, and systems
  • Excellent capability with WMS/ERP platforms and inventory reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience driving process improvements.
  • Experience managing stock rotation, shelf life, and quality control, including SLOB stock, with strategies to minimise waste.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (HACCP, MPI) and health & safety best practice.
  • Excellent communicator with strong organisation and time management skills.
  • A genuine passion for quality beverages and the Good George brand.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and employee benefits
  • Performance KPIs and incentives
  • Staff discounts on Good George products
  • Ongoing training & development opportunities.
  • A collaborative, high-performing work environment.
  • Great team culture, work hard-play hard.
  • The chance to make a real impact with a nationally recognised NZ brand.
