Production Brewer – Brave Brewing Co.
Brave Brewing Co. is a much loved, independently owned craft brewery based in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay. We are looking for an experienced brewer to join our small, high-performing team.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with proven commercial brewing experience who enjoys being involved in all aspects of brewery operations. While brewing will be a key part of the position, we’re a small team, so the successful applicant will also spend time in the cellar, cleaning tanks, packaging beer, washing and filling kegs and supporting general brewery operations as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wort production and brewhouse operation
- Tank cleaning and sanitation
- Fermentation and cellar management
- Dry hopping, fining and beer transfers
- Packaging operations including keg washing, kegging, bottling and quality checks
- Yeast management
- Quality control and record keeping
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workplace
About You:
- You enjoy working as part of a small team, contribute positively to workplace culture and treat colleagues with respect
- Proven commercial brewing experience is essential
- Strong understanding of brewing science and cellar operations
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Physically capable of handling the demands of brewery work
