Hallertau Brewery (Riverhead)

– Brewer & Cellar Hand –

If you are not keen on corporate jobs, traffic, and the central city come work at this family owned craft brewery in Riverhead, operating since 2005.

We brew beer onsite, nurture it through cellaring until it becomes delicious finished beer, which is then kegged, bottled and sold. Over time the right person would be expected to be fully trained throughout all of these steps.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about craft beer, demonstrates accuracy in their work, and is keen to develop their skills in food/beverage or warehousing. You’ll become part of a small fun team that gets the job done.

Hours would be from 8:00am-4:30pm from Monday to Friday

Main responsibilities would be Cellar work, Brew House Operation Keg deliveries and Canning/Bottling Line operation

Ideal applicants will have Minimum of 2 years working in a commercial brewery.

  • Transferable experience from other beverage manufacturing.
  • Experience of working to strict deadlines in a growing food/drink production environment.
  • Computer literacy
  • Be willing and able to repeatedly lift 25kg overhead
  • Attending industry events, promotions and representing the brewery respectfully.
  • Understanding of systems and processes related to QA and OSH.
  • Being able to adapt and continuing improvements with process.
  • Ability to use and maintain
    • Diatomaceous earth filter.
    • Dissolved oxygen meter:
    •  All aspects of brewhouse work. This includes, but is not limited to, Mash/Lauter tun, kettle, whirlpool, fermenters, hot liquor tank and cold liquor tank as well as all related pipework, pumps, valves and controls.
    • Canning/Bottling equipment or the ability to pick up its operation quickly.
  • Sound mechanical knowledge.
  • Full Drivers License
  • Forklift License
