Packaging Assistant – Behemoth Brewing Company

Description

We’re looking for a motivated Packaging Assistant to join Behemoth Brewing Company! In this role, you’ll be crucial to our packaging operations, assisting with everything from canning and packing to quality control and warehouse duties. You’ll need to be detail-oriented, able to perform repetitive tasks, and happy to help with a variety of tasks as needed. A valid NZ Forklift license is a must.

Details of the Role:

  • Visually inspect and weigh cans on the packaging line to ensure quality
  • Place cans into cardboard cases
  • Pack cans into 6pk boxes or sleeves
  • Stack full cases onto pallets for storage. Approx 12 kgs/case
  • Wrap pallets tightly for storage and shipping.
  • Help maintain cleanliness of packaging warehouse by cleaning on and around the canning line before/during/after operations
  • Move pallets full of cans into the cooler using a manual pallet jack
  • Assist canning line operator with loading empty cans and lids to be applied to cans
  • Stickering / labelling boxes before assembly
  • Assisting in hand bottling projects.
  • Pack, weigh and label completed items for shipment or storage
  • Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging to ensure items arrive at their destination
  • Identify and dispose of defective items before they are shipped to customers
  • Properly use packaging materials and machinery, including tape machines, labellers and conveyors
  • Assist in keeping complete records of all materials that go through the warehouse
  • Work as a member of the team to implement continual improvement in packaging quality and output, reporting to the packaging lead and operations manager
  • Help maintain a safe working environment reporting any incidents or near misses.
  • Assist with miscellaneous warehouse duties and cleaning.
  • Willingness to help out with other tasks as needed and assigned.
  • Assist in regular stock takes (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) to verify accuracy of finished goods and packaging
  • Participate in the re-pack process as and when required
