About the Role

Reporting to the Brewery Operations Manager and working closely with the Packaging Lead, Brewery Team and Cellar Lead, this role is essential to ensuring our beer is packaged to the highest standards. You will operate canning and kegging equipment, maintain excellent cleanliness, follow safety protocols and support smooth daily operations across packaging and cellar tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Operations
• Operate the canning line, kegging line and all ancillary equipment (depalletiser, conveyors, labeller, scales, date coder).
• Ensure safe, efficient and high‑quality packaging at all times.
• Pack cans into boxes or sleeves and stack cartons on pallets (repetitive 12kg lifts).
• Wrap and label pallets accurately for storage and shipping.
• Inspect and weigh cans during production to ensure quality.
• Measure dissolved oxygen levels and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with seam checks and record keeping.
• Clean and maintain the packaging hall and equipment before, during and after shifts.
• Move full pallets into the chiller (manual pallet jack or forklift).
• Clean and fill kegs and PETs.
• Assist with stocktakes of packaging materials.
• Support general warehouse duties as required.
• Maintain strict cleanliness and sanitation protocols (CIP/SIP).
• Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.

Cellar Operations
• Carbonate beer in bright tanks.
• Acid wash and CIP bright tanks according to production schedule.
• Keep brewery equipment clean, organised and stored appropriately.
• Handle 65kg kegs safely.
• Assist in preparing and packing customer orders.

Record Keeping & Quality Assurance
• Maintain accurate cellar and packaging records.
• Communicate any issues to the Packaging Lead.
• Participate in sensory evaluation and beer quality monitoring.
• Use scientific equipment when required (pH meters, density meters, microscopes, dissolved oxygen meters).
• Contribute to improving packaging processes, efficiency and output.

General Responsibilities
• Represent Behemoth Brewing professionally at all times.
• Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service and housekeeping.
• Support management with ad hoc tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in brewing, cellaring, packaging or winery operations (preferred).
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 20kg repeatedly.
• Ability to bend, lift, twist and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Good with basic hand tools and machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Positive, can‑do attitude and a strong team‑player mindset.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
• Forklift licence or experience (preferred but not essential).
• Strong communication and time‑management skills.
