Upper North Island Sales Representative – Garage Project

Ready to kick start your sales career? Garage Project is a brewery based in Wellington, NZ, known for making unique and beautiful beers. We’re a team of fun-loving, dedicated and hardworking crew who aspire to be leaders, never followers, in our industry. We’ve grown from humble beginnings to now a team of 65+ across NZ and Australia and we have some exciting adventures ahead.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Auckland based Regional and Remote Sales Representative to join our crew!

About the role

This is a developmental role — ideal for someone at the start of their sales journey. You’ll be responsible for building relationships with existing and new clients and growing sales. You’ll work as part of our Sales team to represent Garage Project in the trade, attend industry events, and deliver awesome customer service.

We are looking for someone who can build relationships with our grocery, retail, and On-Premise trade partners, while also spotting new opportunities in the market — and who feels comfortable talking to groups of people about our world-class beer.

Your time will split between outbound calls from our Auckland office and on the road visits to existing customers across the Upper North Island. You will be a champion for Garage Project – educating, promoting and flying the flag for our products. You will be the face of Garage Project and part of a motivated team – all in the quest to bring beer to the people that love to drink it.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop an outbound phone call cycle, with regular communication to all of our awesome customers that we can’t reach in person
  • You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a regular call cycle of in person visits to customers across the Upper North Island
  • Support and execute sales strategies to grow our reach
  • Represent Garage Project at festivals, events and tastings
  • You will champion our beers by ensuring a deep knowledge of our range, have an overall understanding of beer and wine making, and be able to talk at length with customers about these

About you

  • A craft beer enthusiast who’s keen to turn that passion into a career
  • Previous relevant experience or you are excited by the idea of learning how to sell, hit targets, and build customer relationships
  • A people-person who can build strong relationships with customers and partners both internally and externally
  • Strong time management and ability to plan in advance. Diligence in shaping up a workflow and sticking to it is critical
  • You will be a strong communicator, sociable and easy to get along with – a natural champion to fly our flag;
  • A team player who can work closely with our dynamic team as well as ability to work independently
  • You have a full, clean licence as there is travel involved

We’re big believers in inclusive, accessible workplaces so this ad is a guide, not a checklist. If you don’t tick every box but feel this role could be a great fit for you, we encourage you to apply.

Why Garage Project?

We’re more than just a brewery – we’re a crew. At GP, we work hard, play hard, and we love what we do. Our vibe is fast-paced, creative, and a little bit chaotic (in the best way). You’ll get great perks, including all the beers and merch you could dream of, plus ongoing training to level up your skills. Critical to the ongoing success of Garage Project is the tight crew of energetic, knowledgeable and downright friendly humans. We value contribution and invite everyone to bring their whole selves to work. Oh, and did we mention we’re a Living Wage employer, Proud Pride pledge participant and we’re Carbon Zero certified? Yeah, we’re pretty proud of that too.
