Parrotdog was founded in 2011 out of a love for good beer by three guys called Matt. Today, we’re still doing what they started back then: making approachable, award-winning beer from our rapidly expanding brewery in Lyall Bay, Wellington.
We’re on the lookout for a Brewer to join our team and who will continue championing our values of producing high-quality, consistent beers using best-in-class brewing practices. You’ll play a key role in helping us maintain our commitment to quality.
Your day-to-day will include a mix of hands-on brewing, quality control tasks, and cellar operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating the brewhouse safely and efficiently
- Yeast management, fermentation monitoring, quality checks, clarification and filtration
- Lab analysis, CIP, and sanitation of fermentation vessels and bright beer tanks
- Maintaining accurate brewing records and ensuring traceability across all stages
- Supporting adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and contributing to their ongoing improvement
- Assisting the Brewery Manager in planning and executing production schedules
- Supporting the Brew and wider Production team
For the right candidate, this role holds the opportunity to step into a Brewing Supervisor position, a unique opportunity to support the management team in an industry leading brewing operation.
We’re looking for someone with a real passion for brewing. To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Hold an IBD brewing qualification or equivalent
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience operating a production brewhouse
- Be experienced in cellar operations, including centrifuge and lenticular filtration
- Perform basic on/offline measurements and analysis to a high level of accuracy and repeatability
- Be motivated, a team player, and have excellent attention to detail
- Have great mechanical aptitude and the ability to work well under pressure
- Hold (or have previously held) a current Forklift Licence
- And, most importantly, have a passion for quality beer
