New Zealand’s commercial brewing industry is as diverse as the people who work in it. The industry is made up of over 200 breweries – from the smallest businesses producing under 50,000 litres a year to the largest that produce over 5 million litres. It is estimated that the brewing industry in NZ employs just over 2000 people.
This means that the brewing industry can offer careers in a wide range of areas from food science to manufacturers, marketers and brewers and everyone in between.
People in brewing are a passionate crowd who care deeply about the quality of the product they’re making and the community that they are serving. Our breweries are located in cities and towns throughout NZ.
Crafting high quality beer is immensely satisfying and fun – but it is also hard work and requires people who are dedicated, keen to continuously improve and who are determined to succeed.
