ABOUT US:
Established in 2016 The Cargo Collective is a unique hospitality, beverage and events company based in Queenstown, NZ. Our new events and production facility opened in June 2024 and we are looking for a Brewer / Distiller to join our team as we create an exciting new range of beverages.
ABOUT YOU:
You will be involved with the production of all our beverages. This includes developing recipes and maintaining a safe and clean working environment. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Production Manager and owners to ensure a high-quality final product.
Experience or an interest in distilling and creating a range of low and non-alcoholic beverages will be useful for this application
You will also be responsible for leading brewery tours and presenting to groups so we are looking for someone who is comfortable at hosting and discussing the production process with others.
The role will include:
- Overseeing the brewing and distilling processes from start to finish. Including developing new recipes, sourcing material/packaging, cleaning/maintenance, etc.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by developing quality control processes and safety guidelines
- Creating accurate recordkeeping for all brewing activities including inventory, production, cleaning, etc.
- Leading brewery tours and interacting with clients during events
The ideal candidate should have:
- A complete knowledge of the brewing process and ability to run brewing operations by themselves
- A working knowledge of spirit distillation (or at least an interest to learn)
- A very high attention to detail with efficient problem solving
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially public speaking
- Willingness to work holidays and/or weekends as required
- Passion for delicious beer/spirits
