Brewer – Emerson’s

At Emerson’s we brew and deliver an iconic range of beers and now you have the opportunity to be part of the team that will ensure our service and offering is just as iconic.

 

We have an opportunity for a Brewer to join our team on based at our spiritual home in Dunedin.  In this role you will be responsible for brewing world class beer to specification and to maintain quality and excellence of the Emerson’s beer range.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Support the brewing lead team to ensure high quality brewing and the conditioning of Emerson’s range to specification and recipe
  • Contribute to new beer development, developing recipes in coordination with sales and marketing that consumers will enjoy
  • Oversee the brewing process ensuring the brew recipe is followed accordingly and accurately
  • Maintain fermentation records, brew sheets and cellar record sheets
  • Represent Emerson’s at trade events and liaise with trade customers and consumers to share the passion and knowledge of craft beer

What you will make you successful:

  • Tertiary qualifications in appropriate technical discipline, with a formal brewing qualifications or in the process of acquiring one
  • Experience in production brewing
  • Proven attention to detail, with the ability to problem solve effectively
  • Strong team player, willing to pitch in where needed
  • Excellent communication skills that engage stakeholders in the Emerson’s brewing vision
  • A clean, full drivers licence essential, forklift licence advantageous
  • Your passion for craft beer (and hopefully Emerson’s!)
