We’re a locally owned and operated 2nd generation brewery with a passion for making tasty high quality brews that represent the BOP and keep Mt Maunganui locals thirsts satisfied.

We have our popular core range which has been quenching locals for years, our core range is clean, consistent and always brewed very fresh, our core range is big, as we want to brew a style that will suit each and all of our customers.

As a Brewer for Mount Brewing Co you will be responsible for all aspects of the production process of Mount Brewing Co including brewing, ensuring  that all products produced within BOP Brewery are brewed, mixed, and packaged to the highest level of quality.

You should represent and embrace all values, visons and directions BOP Brewery and Mount Brewing Co. Brewery represent.

Duties include, but will not be limited to: Production and packaging of beer and other beverages, working with other members of the team, to ensure all beer that leaves this facility is of the highest quality and that the brewery is kept clean, functional, and safe at all times.

 

Key Roles:  

– Carry out fermentation and cellaring process according to each beer requirements; handling product, maintaining records, managing water and stock and maintaining a clean environment,

– Monitor all beer in tanks and transfer to bright tanks according to schedule and requirements.

– Prepare ingredients as per recipe and monitor stock levels.

– Provide support to other areas of production.

– Brew beer, including following specific beer recipes, production of wort, preparation of all ingredients for production of beer, managing stock levels, manage water, manage yeast propagation and harvesting, keeping records, handling product and transferring of product

– Developing beer recipes, concepts and descriptions and sharing with the wider brewing team.

– Organising and partaking in collaboration and events

– Representing the brand and the culture of the brewery in all internal and external activities.

– Maintain current awareness of best practice brewing and packaging practices.

– Following all Health and Safety procedures, MPI and legal requirements

– Assist in brewery maintenance.

– Package beer – set up pack runs, machines, packaging materials, labelling cans,  building boxes, kegging.

– Aim to win awards to grow breweries brand and reputation whist pushing yourself to develop your reputation and knowledge as a brewer.

– Follow all routine cleaning systems and procedures.

 

Physical Demands 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand for long periods of time and walk; use fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands; talk and hear; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, twist, bend and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift or carry up to 25 kg and manipulate and/or move up to 70 kg. Use of arms above the shoulder is sometimes required.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires manual dexterity and ability to quickly move hand(s), hand with arm, grasp, manipulate or assemble.

The employee will be required to operate a motor vehicle/forklift.

Other

Minimum 5 years brewing experience required

Forklift license beneficial

Full-time / permanent position

starting rate $29.66 per hour

1 position available

Position will require occasional weekend work, majority of work is Monday – Friday 8am-4pm
