Parrotdog was conceived in 2011 out of a love for good beer by three guys called Matt. Today, we have grown this love for beer into an industry-leading operation producing the highest quality beers, recognised as New Zealand’s Champion Large Brewery for 2024.
We are looking for a highly skilled Brewing Manager, with a passion for beer and brewing, to champion our commitment to quality and play a key role in building Parrotdog into a legacy brand.
A unique opportunity within the NZ brewing industry, this role will be instrumental in the management and development of our quality standards, production improvements and recipe development.
What this role entails:
- Managing daily brewing and cellaring operations to ensure quality and efficiency
- Leading and mentoring our highly skilled brewing team
- Ensuring all production meets quality standards and compliance regulations
- Overseeing maintenance of brewing equipment and facilities
- Managing raw materials to optimise production flow
- Collaborating with senior management on production planning and capacity requirements
- Monitoring and improving efficiency, yield, and wastage reduction
- Implementing safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment
- Supporting new product development and continuous process improvements
What we require in this role:
- Proven experience in a brewery management or senior production role
- IBD Diploma in Brewing qualification or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of lab equipment and operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Deep understanding of brewing processes, quality control, and production efficiencies
- Experience with brewery equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements in brewing
- Experience in inventory management
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong organisational and communication abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
